Author Laura LeBeouf will visit the Abbeville Library on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm for a book talk and signing on her children’s book “Angel Pennies”. This book was named a finalist in the American Book Festival.
Mrs. LeBeouf, who is also a retired educator, said that she was inspired by a vision she had about angels and her own experience of finding pennies left by her deceased father throughout her life. It was not until the death of a former student who was committed to saving economically deprived children faced with a loss of a loved one that Laura realized God’s purpose was to write this book and establish the Angel Pennies Network to aid children who suffered from loss and who struggled to cope with the grieving process.
“The book “Angel Pennies” provides comfort and coping skills through the use of God’s Penny Angels and their gift of an angel penny heart pillow” says Laura. “The book explores the topic of grief and dying for children and young adolescents. Angel Pennies offers assurance that the love of the spirit never dies”.
What makes this book unique from other books written on the same subject, is that Penny Angels guide the reader and offer comfort while providing healing and coping strategies. The book has a percentage of the proceeds to the Angel Pennies Network which will provide support to children who suffer from trauma and grief due to the loss of family members. In the future, other healing products such as a grief heart pillow, penny angel, and journal will be available for purchase.
Another unique aspect of the book is that it was illustrated by artist Adonis “Klebe” Meaux who is also a retired educator.
