Adult Program – Break up with Salt

Interested in learning how to manage blood pressure levels through lifestyle changes? Join us for “Break Up with Salt,” a four-part lesson series aimed to help adults at risk for or with hypertension (high blood pressure) manage blood pressure levels through goal setting, diet, nutrition label reading, portion control, and cooking. This series will be held on Mondays, January 31, February 7, 14, and 21, 2022 at 5:30 pm at Abbeville Library located at 405 E. St. Victor Street, Abbeville, LA 70510 The program will be held by Mandy Armentor, nutrition agent with the LSU AgCenter. This program is a joint effort between the LSU AgCenter and Vermilion Parish Library System.

Lessons include:

January 31, 2022: Session 1-Detect, Correct, and Protect

February 7, 2022: Session 2-DASH Diet and Label Reading

February 14, 2022: Session 3-Virtual Grocery Store Tour

February 21, 2022: Session 4-Mastering Meals with Flavor

This program is free and open to the public. Participants should make every effort to attend each lesson.
