“The American Dream is about equal opportunity for everyone who works hard. If we don’t give everyone the ability to read and write, then we aren’t giving everyone an equal chance to succeed.”
— Mrs. Barbara Bush

September is National Literacy Awareness Month. It is so easy to take for granted the incredible gift we were given when we are taught to read. When a person learns to read, it unlocks the door to opportunity. One of the best ways to prepare young children for school and to nurture a lifelong love of reading is to make sure they have access to quality books before they even enter a classroom.

On September 28, 2016 the Rotary Club will be hosting a book drive in honor of National Literacy Month at Azul Tequilla starting at 6:00 pm. Please stop by and drop off a new children’s book.
