2022 Summer Reading Information

📝Reading Program Sign-Up:
This year we will be using the “Beanstack” to track reading participation this year. There will be no more paper registration at any of our library branches. You can sign up for Beanstack on a computer or download the app. As always, we are offering a program for children, teens & adults. Here are the instructions on how to register, you can also go by your local library branch and they will be happy to help you.

Beanstack allows you to:

• Keep track of all family members’ reading logs,
  progress, and badges on one account.
• Log reading from home or on the go to earn badges.
• Complete activities at home.
• Read and write book reviews of the books you read.
• Use the Beanstack Tracker App to keep track of all
  reading and activities quickly and easily. This video

Getting Started on the Computer:

1. Go to the Library’s Beanstack URL: vermilion.beanstack.org
   or download the free app from the Apple or Google store.
2. The homepage will show you the available reading programs
   at the library. Choose the one that is right for you! *Tip*Multiple
   readers can be added to the same account. You can also decide to
   register kids separately if they would like to access themselves.
3. Account Creator: Select the green “Register” button. Enter your
   first name, last name, age range (necessary due to age restrictions
   for programs), and a password to register.
4. Once the Account Creator selects the “Next” button, Beanstack
   will ask if you would like to register another adult (select ‘yes’ or ‘no’)
   and then whether you would like to register another child
   (select ‘yes’ or ‘no’).
5. A brown band at the bottom of the screen will alert you that you
   are successfully registered.
6. As you accumulate badges, you will get virtual raffle tickets along
   the way for prize drawings (frequency varies by age group’s program)

   Starting May 23, 2022, you can go to any branch of the Vermilion Parish Library to register for all the activities/performers we have scheduled for the summer.
