President, Ricky Luquette called the Vermilion Parish Public Library Board of Control meeting to order on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Abbeville Library at 5:00PM. The following members were present: Ricky Luquette, Jane Barras, Melanie Hensgens, Mayor Wayne Theriot, R. Brady Broussard, Jr., Betty Girouard, Leon Broussard, Police Jury ex-officio member and Yolanda Broussard.
Absent: None
Guest were: Charlotte Trosclair, director, Amy Stelly, business manager, Sue Trahan, YA/Adult librarian, Grant Domingue, IT manager, Gabe Marceaux, Vermilion Parish Tax Assessor, Matthew Margaglio with Kolder, Champagne, Slaven & Company, LLC, Matte Haack with Brown & Brown Insurance, Larry Campisi and Allen Ramke.
Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance were led by Mr. Ricky Luquette.
On the motion of R. Brady Broussard, Jr. seconded by Mr. Leon Broussard and carried the board unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of and to unanimously accept the November 15, 2017 regular meeting minutes. There were no public comments.

Mayor Wayne Theriot motioned for a 2% cost of living increase and Mrs. Betty Girouard substituted the motion for a 3% cost of living increase without a second causing the 3% increase to fail. On the motion of Mayor Wayne Theriot seconded by R. Brady Broussard, Jr. and carried the board unanimously voted to approve the 2% cost of living increase for full time employees and the director. There were no public comments.

Brady Broussard, Jr. seconded by Mayor Wayne Theriot and carried the board unanimously voted to accept the quote from Southern Technologies for an updated Wi-Fi system. There were no public comments.
